Preliminary
Announcement of
11th International Workshop on the Interrelationship between Plasma
Experiments in Laboratory and Space (IPELS)
(July
10 evening to July 15 afternoon, 2011 at Banff, Canada)
The workshop will
bring together active members of the laboratory, space and astrophysics
plasma physics communities from around the world and aims to foster
intellectual interaction and scientific collaboration addressing the
processes responsible for various common plasma phenomena.
The following is a
tentative
list of topics to be covered:
Magnetic reconnection
Collisionless shock and
particle acceleration
Angular momentum transport
Magnetic dynamo
Instabilities and turbulence
Alfven waves and wave-particle intereactions
Jets and outflows
Relativistic plasmas and pair plasmas
Dusty plasmas
More detailed informaion will follow. The preliminary meeting website
has been set up at http://mri.pppl.gov/IPELS2011.html Please check this
website for updates, or email Hantao Ji at hji@pppl.gov for particular
